Baksei Chamkrong - Siem Reap Province

A towering 12-meter tall block and laterite step-pyramid. Harshavarman I started development or maybe committed statues at the site in the mid tenth century. It was later enhanced/restored by Rajendravarman II not long after the capital was come back to Angkor from Koh Ker. As per engravings on the entryway, Rejendravarman II blessed with the establishment of a brilliant Shiva picture in 947AD. It may have additionally served as a funerary sanctuary. Join with a visit toward the South Gate in the morning or Phnom Bakheng at night. Lighting is best in the morning.
